Clothing Collections

In accordance with a Commercial Participator Agreeement, Local Community Recycling Services Ltd project manage clothing collections on our behalf throughout the UK. All the donated goods are sorted by Local Community Recycling Services prior to being exported for sale. For every tonne of clothing collected Kidney Research UK receives £75 to support our work.Clothing collections have raised over £300,000 for our life saving research to date.

A collection may be held in your street and if you are unsure about the veracity of a particular collection, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Institute of Fundraising and Kidney Research UK have produced a useful guide on the different types of clothing collections and how to check these are legitimate. To read the guide please click here.

Recycle it!

Kidney Research UK has joined forces with the Recycling Appeal to collect and recycle unwanted mobile phones and used printer cartridges.

This obviously has a clear environmental benefit, but also a financial benefit to Kidney Research UK; did you know your old mobile phone could be worth up to £70 to us?

You can send your old mobile phones or empty printer cartridges to us in a freepost envelope. If you collect empty cartridges and old phones at work, and get over eight items, we can arrange for their free collection.

To find out more, and how to get your envelope / collection, please visit the Recycling Appeal website at www.recyclingappeal.com/kidney or click here to find out more.
